If you're an engineer who was laid off and you're looking for a new role, don't limit yourself to a specific job title in your search. There's no standard for eng job titles. One company's Director is another's Manager. One company's Staff Engineer is another's Senior Engineer.

Before you sit down to apply for a job or make a custom resume to a posting. Ask yourself. "How will I improve this work environment. How will I make the lives of this team easier? What can I do" Answer that and then write your resume around that answer. Focus and perspective.
