Instead of writing a customized resume for every job you're applying for, focus on creating resumes around specific skill sets and the stories they tell. Some of us have a healthy amount of Technical and Interpersonal skills. Look at your wins through the lens of your skills.

Job Search Tip: REFERRALS and Relationships
Focus on all the different ways you can connect with employees. IE find alumni from your school who work at your target employers by using LinkedIn. Reach out to them to ask for insights. you may get a referral to the hiring manager.
